In 2024, the Federal Government of Nigeria disbursed ₦45.43 billion under the Basic Health Care Provision Fund (BHCPF) to states across the federation. Kano State emerged as the highest recipient, receiving ₦2.67 billion. It was followed by Katsina and Jigawa, which received ₦1.99 billion and ₦1.89 billion, respectively.

The top ten beneficiary states were overwhelmingly from Northern Nigeria, with Enugu standing out as the only state from the South East in the group. Together, these ten states received a combined ₦16.94 billion, accounting for over one-third of the total allocation.
