Private capital exits in Francophone Africa have been fluctuating over the last 12 years. However, the year 2019 saw 13 successful exits, the highest recorded since 2012. In total, the region has experienced 76 exits from 2012 to mid-2024. The early years (2012-2017) saw a very low amount of exits, ranging between 2 to 4, except in 2013 (10 deals). The uneven nature of exits signals a growing but still unstable exit infrastructure for private capital in Francophone Africa.
