Tesla still leads the pack among pure EV makers, dominating global deliveries for over a decade. From 2015 to 2023, it was all growth until 2024, when the streak broke with a 1.11% dip in vehicle deliveries.
The U.S. remains Tesla’s biggest market, where the Model Y ranks among the company's top-selling cars overall. And while 2024 saw a slight slowdown, it also marked the rise of the bold new Cybertruck, with production ramping up and 85,000 units delivered by year’s end.
The EV game is evolving, and Tesla’s still steering the charge, but since launching its EV production in 2008, its presence has been limited in Africa. But that is beginning to change. On May 27, 2025, Tesla Morocco SARL was officially registered in Casablanca with an initial capital of $2.75 million, marking the company’s first formal entry into the African market with ambitions that go beyond just vehicle sales.
