Met and unmet United Nations (UN) requirements for Nigeria's humanitarian support (2016-2024)

There are variations in the percentages of the amount the United Nations was able to raise and what was left to attain a hundred percent of the stated amount for each year’s humanitarian aid for Nigeria between 2016 to 2024. UN were able to meet more than 50 percent of their requirement except for 2023 where they met less than 50 percent. More than 70 percent of UN requirements were met in 2017, 2019, and 2021, with more than 60 percent in 2018 and 2022. 2019 witnessed the lowest percentage of unmet requirements, while 2023 was the year in which the percentage of unmet requirements was highest. This is a reflection of assistance received by the UN for Nigeria's humanitarian response plan as well as the outstanding finances not received.
