While the internet has become second nature for many, the global picture is far from equal. As of January 2025, the global internet adoption rate stands at 68%, meaning nearly 1 in every 3 people worldwide still isn’t connected. The disparities are wide by region: Northern Europe leads with 98% adoption, while Eastern Africa lags behind at just 29%.
