3G's share of Nigeria's mobile market fell by nearly 70% between May 2023 and May 2026, while 4G's share more than doubled to account for over half of all connections.
Although 2G's share fell from 58.4% to 36.1%, it still accounted for more than a third of all connections in 2026, while 5G remained small in absolute terms despite expanding nearly 37-fold from a near-zero base.
