Nigeria’s internet usage is dominated by communication, with 94% of mobile users relying on instant messaging and 91% engaging with social media, though primarily for personal rather than business purposes. Real-time communication is also key, as 90% make voice calls and 89% use video calls.
However, essential services remain underutilised, as only 45% access government platforms, and 41% use online health services. The lowest adoption is in agriculture, where just 25% of users access relevant online resources, reflecting the digital divide in rural areas. Addressing these gaps could drive broader economic inclusion and improve access to vital services.
