Asia continues to be the epicentre of social media activity, accounting for 47.7% of Facebook's global user base, with over 1.1 billion active users as of January 2025. This places the region far ahead of others, reinforcing Asia's growing digital dominance across social platforms. The scale is massive, with nearly one in two Facebook users worldwide logging in from Asia.
America comes next, making up 26.8% of global users with 611.8 million users. Africa, surprisingly strong, represents 12.7% (291.1M), just ahead of Europe’s 11.8% (269M). Oceania, as seen across other platforms, accounts for only 1% (23.6M). While usage is relatively balanced outside of Asia, no region comes close to matching its scale.
