In Nigeria’s 2026 budget, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is set to receive ₦2.31 billion, a fraction of the ₦210 billion earmarked for the sports sector. The National Sports Commission HQ commands the lion’s share at ₦203.6 billion, while the National Institute for Sports is allocated ₦4.12 billion.
The allocation indicates a strong administrative focus, with limited resources allocated to football development and other sports programmes, which may constrain growth and competitive performance at the national and grassroots levels.
