Only four state governors presented their budgets in October, and all four are among the five states with the longest time between budget presentation and signing into law.

Ekiti and Cross River, the first two states to present their budgets — on October 29, 2024 — waited the longest

Kano, the only state to present its budget in the first week of November, joins Yobe and Bayelsa, both of which presented their budgets on October 31, 2024, as the states with over 50 days between budget presentation and signing into law.

By presenting their budgets early, these states allowed for ample time for legislative scrutiny and review, enabling legislators to effectively exercise their oversight responsibilities.
