According to Y Combinator’s (YCs) website, 3,657 startups had gone through the California-based technology startup’s accelerator programme as of W22 — its Winter cohort.
Founded in 2005, YC didn’t have African countries participating in its programme until the Winter of 2009, with a few occasional breaks. Ninety-five startups have participated in its accelerator programme to date.
Intelligence by Techpoint, the data and research arm of Techpoint Africa, has partnered with YC to give an account of its activities in Africa since 2009.
